57th Surfman Award:Darwyn Cooke and DC:The New Frontier

Darwyn Cooke is an incredible writer, artist and master story teller of one of my favourite mini-series DC:The New Frontier.Darwyn is also a Canadian, which makes me proud that our country has produced such talent, that can work at the top level in the highly competitive world of the comic industry. The picture that accompanies this post is issue #4 of a 6 part story line. It has been signed by Darwyn and is a 9.8 CGC graded comic. The story is kind of a mis-mash of 1950's super heroes interacting with the beginning of the US Space Programme, with superb art work and creative writing...well done Mr. Cooke! Can't wait to check out the 2 set dvd of the series this Tuesday.

56th Surfman Award: Lava's new west coast ride.

No this is not the surfman's car, the surfman rides a bike. This sleek new mobile belongs to my fancy-pants amigo and proud new poppa to baby bam-bam. Hence, the reasoning for this high end new BMW sedan. My left coast buddy's new lad has outgrown their old two door echo and now rides in this luxury mobile. Enjoy your sweet new ride Dr. Lava,while I have to jump on my bicycle and wade my way through the latest snow storm that has hit my fair metropolis. But seriously, I am happy for my amigo and can't wait to place my being in his new ride, in fact I may end up working as his chauffer sooner than I thought. "Home surfman, home..."
