Behold the Surfman's Art! Just joking about the behold, but I am quite overjoyed with the fact that 1 year ago my bike art was picked by theCommunity Bicycle Network along with eleven others to be turned into posters and recently auctioned off for the CBN. The Community Bicycle Network is such a joy to have in the city, all bicycle friendly Torontians should count themselves lucky that an organization like CBN exists. The auction was so much fun, it was held at the newly renovated Gladstone hotel, and was hosted by Dave Messlin with musical interlude provided by The New Kings. Thank you CBN for a lovely night. You guys are the true Surfmen of this city.

21st Surfman Award : The Ride for Heart

This week's Surfman goes to The Heart & Stroke Foundation's Ride for Heart. Today more than 13, 000 cyclists gathered together to raise money and ride the DVP and Gardiner for Heart & Stroke Research. I organized a corporate team at work, and great fun was had by all. We were part of a record high 3,000 corporate participants along with another 10,000 cyclist comrades. I love that for 1 day, cars are banned from the DVP and Gardiner and we cyclist get to rule the roost, if you will. The Ride for Heart is the single biggest charitable event in Canada every year, and I am so thrilled to be a part of it. I can't wait for next year's 20th anniversary. Keep up the good work Heart & Stroke Foundation staff, you guys did a marvelous job!
