27th Surfman Award: Aunt Betty

This week's Award goes posthumously to my Aunt Betty who went into the light recently, or so I hope? I mean what does happen after we leave this Big Blue Marble? I can only hope that there is more than nothingness out there after we leave our human shells. Being a realist most of my life and constantly feeling that I am kicking off the shackles of Catholicism, I still hold on to some inner feeling or hope that there must be something else out there after we depart. I mean didn't Darwin himself recant on his deathbed, hedging his bets just in case? Anyways, my mother's last sister passed away at 76 and although I did not know her well, she was a wonderful lady and the world was a better place for her having been in it. My Uncle Orville asked me to be a pallbearer, along with 5 other cousins and I was deeply honoured that he choose us to carry his wife of over 50 years to her resting place. Goodbye Aunt Betty, may there be peace and happiness wherever you may be.
