34th Surfman Award: Donald Crowdis

We live in a fast paced world where the thoughts of our own mortality rarely cross our minds, thinking that we have plenty of time on this blue marble to accomplish our goals...and that tomorrow is another day. However, what if there were no tomorrow, what than? Basically, ladies and gents, seize the day!!! If you take nothing more from Mr. Donald Crowdis' blog, it is just that. Mr. Crowdis is 93 years old, and was a guest host on the CBC's The Nature of Things, he has spent a lifetime bringing science to masses and he does not want to go from this life...he still has much to do. His writings have touched me in a way, that makes me want to take a few chances and have no regrets when all is said and done. I have always secretly wanted to be an actor, but have been afraid of failure or risks that go hand in hand with such a profession...just maybe, its time to put one foot in front of the regrets, right? Mr. Crowdis's blog is important to me and many people, this kind man's words can teach us much...if you have the opportunity, please check it wont be disappointed.
