79th Surfman Award: Solar Eclipse

A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the sun & the earth, so the sun is wholly or partially obscured. This can only happen during a new moon, when the sun and moon are in conjunction as seen from the earth. Quite spectacular I must say. This picture is from the 1999 eclipse.
